I love using this program, however, I am having a problem trying to use the Upscale feature. Basically, when do I apply it? Do I make my corrections on a full size image, or do I crop the image, then make the changes, followed with upscale? I tend to use it on a small image, which will end up being a 5x7 or 8x10. I have had conflicting results upscaling, then cropping, and cropping then upscaling. I can not get consistent results. So, which is the best, or correct way to use upscaling?
For me, I always crop and align outside of PhotoAI. Then I bring it in just to do the upscale.
This would be a user preference regarding cropping, however, I will note that personally, when using Topaz Photo AI, I will start with my original image and then crop to my desired frame, then use the following recommended workflow for edits:
RAW Denoise (if applicable) → Adjust Lighting → Balance Color → Remove Noise → Sharpen → Remove Object → Recover Faces → Preserve Text → Upscale
Thank you. The sequence you sent seems to be working for me. I really appreciate it.

I have an additional question. The formula you gave me works wonderfully. Now I am wondering when using a filter, such as lighting, and lighten the “subject,” should I pull up lighting again and do “background.” Or, should I just do one setting (subject") and then change to “background”, before going to sharpen. In essence, use a filter two separate times.
Thank you
I would personally use two layers of Lighting adjustment, one being the subject, and the other being the background.
Got it, thanks!
Using two passes with each filter is working very nicely. The only one I really have to watch is Denoise. It tends to warp numbers, letters, and bright areas. I have to go easy with it. Thanks for the advice.
