Is there some way to make Photo AI or Gigapixel upscale the shortest (or longest) edge to some value, or a way to create an image with a final number of megapixels? If not, can it be added in the near future?
I’m trying to bulk process several hundred images from an ice skating event that still required cropping despite using the Canon 70-200 f/2.8 lens on APS-C 7DMkII. Some are portrait and some are landscape, most are cropped to 2x3 or 3x4. If I set “width” to something like 3000, the landscape is ignored because it is larger. If I set height to a similar value, portrait is ignored for the same reason.
Since the software does not downscale, I can probably run Gigapixel twice and upscale edges separately, but I’m not sure if PhotoAI can do that as a bulk process, without running other image manipulation events.
So, it would be great if there was a “short” or “long” edge scale option so that we say “I’d like the short edge to be 3000” and the software just figures out what the short edge is. It would also be nice if we could just upscale or downscale to a final megapixel count. Some of my images are cropped from 20+ down to less than 10 and I’d like to upscale to something closer to the original 20 without going over that.
