How to make Video EAI faster?

Hello,

I bought a PC with the 14900k and the 4090 to use with Topaz. When doing the benchmark, the speeds seem amazing. When I use it for real, I’m stuck at around 7-10fps. The benchmark says I should be around 20fps. I noticed the fans start to get LOUD. I’ve deleted Topaz and re-installed it. I read here that Video Enhance AI likes fast ram. I bought faster ram at Best Buy to see if it made a difference, but it didn’t. What else can I try to?

I have GPU process at 100%.

I saw a similar thread like this one, but it’s closed now.

The benchmark is never an accurate predictor of what the app will do on an actual video, it’s just something standard that can be used to compare different hardware.

How much of your VRAM is actually being used? Some people find that reducing it to less than 100% (but still more than what is actually being used) helps. No idea why that would be.

And what enhancements are you applying? When you add things like stabilization, motion deblur and frame interpolation they all slow things down.

I lowered it to 90% and now I’m getting 13-15 fps on Iris!! Temperatures were also kept lower at around 55-65C. I don’t add stabilization, motion blur or frame interpolation. I do add a little grain though.
