How do you cancel preview processing?

How do I cancel any preview processing in progress in 6.01?

One solution that works in all versions of the product is to kill the ffmpeg process from the operating system’s task manager. I do that a lot.

But what you do if export work in background? Which ffmeg process you kill?
We need something to click to stop preview processing like in the older version.

As to the question. The process where the command line string contains the options I’ve set in the GUI.
But I now realize this question was perhaps more of a rhetorical one to Topaz, due to an in-app feature possibly missing.

Hit the space bar twice and that should stop the processing of the preview render. You can also close the tab but that will revert all of your settings and you will have to create a new tab.

Unfortunately, hitting the space bar had no effect other than starting/stopping playback. (Stabilization is on.)

Hitting the spacebar hits the play button, that starts a auto preview process that we indeed can cancel by hitting spacebar, but there is no real cancel preview process anymore. And why can’t i play the file as normal and not have it auto render? I have to disable Enhancements on the right so i can play the file normal again. Why is this program going backwards in usability?

If stabilization is being applied than that spacebar option wont work, the preview will have to run unless you want to close the tab.

The team is looking into an option to change some of the preview playback workflow to make this easier and not have the render start up.

I thought I was going crazy because I couldn’t figure out how to stop a process in 6.1.3. How silly is it that you can’t pause or stop a process?!!?

It appears that closing the tab, as Kyle suggested, is no longer enough to stop the preview render in v6.1.3 as it used to in a previous version.

EDIT: I’ve only just noticed there’s a preview queue which can now be used to stop them. At last.

How do you use the preview que to stop processing? I don’t see a “Pause Process” or "Quit Process"anywhere?

For an item in the preview queue, you can click on the 3 dots then “Remove from queue” or click on Clear queue at the bottom to remove them all.

I get that and I do appreciate the feedback. It’s just not a particularly elegant solution. I like to keep a history of the actions I take on a video even those I cancel midway. Plus, if I just want to pause and not stop a preview or export…Also, by removing it I’ll loose the setting information, correct? Unless I create a seperate tab for each preview or export. Or is there some sort of history log I’m unaware of I’m unaware of. Previously, each preview would be saved in the queue whether it completed it and I would use this as a history and way to compare changes in settings. How do we do that now? I guess the idea would be to use separate tabs for each preview. Kind of tired so I may not be seeing the whole picture. Thanks very much for your input and feedback.:+1:
