If I try to improve detail and contrast for example, a bland cloudy sky where there is some “hidden” detail, or try to recover a small degree of burn-out using the highlights slider, I find that the slider can be used to perhaps 30% of its range after which it simply converts the sky area to a uniform grey. This does not occur with Lightroom or other similar software using the same image(s). Is there a better way of recovering highlight detail?
Are you talking about Studio? Because if you are it has been something that has been reported previously, the same happens with the Shadows in the Basic Adjustments and then with Brightness & Contrast sliders in the Brightness Contrast Adjustment.
