Why isn’t HEIC photo format supported? This format is supported with Iphone.
I think there is another thread or partial thread on this topic (use the search function) and my recollection is that it has to do with some machines running OS Sequoia.
But certainly not all. In my case, HEIC files are processed with only one small issue: portrait images save back to On1 PhotoRaw in landscape, but that is easily rectified.
Here’s a recent iPhone shot of mine. I ran DeNoise and Sharpen Subject (Natural); I cropped the image and, just for fun removed one of the leaves.
I am on an M1 Mac Mini, 16GB 15.0.1
Hopefully someone at Topaz will help you with your problem. You need to provide full system specs and log files.
The problem is that they say it is supported.
It does not work for me. I am using a windows machine.
Could you confirm this important information? Have you updated to iOS 18 on the phone that you are using to create these .heic RAW files?
If you did , unfortunately, in the iOS 18 update, Apple changed the way they encode HEIC in the latest release, which is not currently supported in Photo AI.
This means that until we support this new encoding, you will have to convert the HEIC files to TIFF or JPEG and set your file format to JPEG for future pictures (unless you want to convert all the files every time).
If you have not updated to iOS 18, the HEIC format should work while using Photo AI as a standalone application; if you can, please confirm.
John, you obviously did not read my reply above. The photo I showed was taken a few days ago and my phone is on 18.0.1. My computer is a Mac, so maybe it’s Windows machines that are having the problem
