Have you even tested this?!

This interface is barely usable, it fails before even reaching step one. For example I apply a crop on a source, then set an enhancement resolution only to catch this piece of garbage switching my width and height numbers, resetting the upscale value to something completely random and unwanted, uncommanded, without me getting a chance to notice.

There is a live preview player which I do not want: I want to be able to preview, but I don’t want this terrible UI to do it. If I disable live preview, sure it removes that player, but it also makes my outputs non previewable. The export player needs to be something we can enable separate of previewable exports.

We use command line because your client is barely usable and full of bugs. We also have custom processes that you will never have time to implement: But now you even disabled CLI usage… so what are we paying for here? More inept, infuriating UI “improvements”?!

This is terrible, simply put, not only have you been going in circles since version 5, but this has turned into a downward spiral!

Not sure why the reply was deleted but I was able to read it in my email and it said something very important: “We need the CLI back or you need to overhaul the whole thing A LOT”

I was hoping topaz video would be exactly this, but it’s just a rehash of a systematically flawed workflow and is further bogged down by an untraceable amount of bugs that simply form one of the strangest concoctions I’ve ever found in video editing.

Furthermore, there are features such as stereoscopic stabilization that topaz will simply never want to integrate in their app; this is where CLI covers important cases like this… I almost only use topaz on stereoscopic content, and the only time I use the GUI is for the upscale phase. Stereoscopic stabilization and interpolation is handled in a batch script I’ve created.

It’s a shame to see the devs completely throw, here. I don’t even get the rationale.

I just was a bit worried because I dont have a subscription and then to write here about the sub only program.

The thing is a discord friend has it and I’m not sure if he has it bought or pirated. But thats why I know what is possible and can look at it with teamviewer. So probably its ok and I worried too much.

I got a tip that in log is the ffmpeg command and I tried it with him, but it says it cant find the apo-8 model. But it exists. So somehow it doesnt even work outside of the GUI.

But its so bad using NVEnc in GUI. It just demands the GPU unnecessarily even more with that encoding task while the CPU is sleeping.

Using x265 preset slow offers a much more efficient encoding and the CPU encodes fast enough, is no bottleneck here at all, GPU at full load all the time, but you get a much more efficient compression (more quality on smaller filesize) while the rendering is faster because GPU not busy with encoding on top.
Also the GUI of Topaz offers soooo little encoding options. its embarassingly bad. And somehow this is the case with any paid software for windows. Really weird. Only paid program with proper x265 implementation I know of is TMPGEnc
