Description:
When using Topaz Photo AI on a G-Sync enabled monitor (ROG PG279Q 2K, 165Hz), the GUI experiences lag and occasional flickering. This behavior is not observed on a non-G-Sync monitor (BenQ EW2780Q, approx. 60Hz).
Steps to Reproduce:
Open Topaz Photo AI on a system with a G-Sync enabled monitor (ROG PG279Q).
Interact with various GUI elements of Topaz Photo AI, hover, click, drag window etc.
Observe the lag and flickering issues in the GUI.
Expected Result:
The GUI should operate smoothly without lag or flickering , similar to the performance on a non-G-Sync monitor.
Actual Result:
The GUI lags and occasionally flickering when interacted with on the 165Hz G-Sync monitor.
Secondary (No Issue): BenQ EW2780Q, 60Hz, No G-Sync
GPU Driver
NVIDIA DRIVER 546.17
Additional Information:
The issue is specifically tied to the use of the G-Sync monitor. When the Topaz Photo AI GUI is moved to the BenQ monitor, the performance is normal and smooth.
Interestingly similar issue is also observed with Photoshop as well, if this info helps.
Update: I moved the Photo AI screen to the external monitor and it works properly.
The problem is occurring on the MacBook Air display.
I had no problems with PhotoAI until I bought this monitor that uses HDMI to connect to my MacBook AIR. I am getting this issue with a NVIDIA LG Ultragear G-SYNC @ 60Hz monitor using MacBook Air 13" M1 Sonoma 14.1.2
I’ve reinstalled Photo AI several times but the issue remains. When I load a photo it doesn’t update the screen unless I move the cursor to the upper left to the close window/minimize buttons, then it shows what the software is doing. It is super odd. So, the screen won’t update after choosing any option within Photo AI, if I move the cursor to the upper left it updates the screen.
The problem persists now even after rebooting without the external monitor plugged-in and with the latest version 2.1.4
