New user of Topaz Photo AI.
Normally I never hear the fan that cools the CPU (which I assume is what I hear - a loud ticking sound). Yesterday I was working on some images with super boost and the fan started making noise. I checked the temperature and it was max 47-50 degrees Celsius which is very normal I think. This morning the ticking sound started again without me starting the Topaz program. Temperature = 48 degrees. I don’t know what it is normally at - before I installed Topaz. But very annoying noise to have now. Any explanation?
Hello Snel. I 'm another forum member.
It might be a dirty fan. If you are using a desktop Pc it should be easy to check for dirt or anything contacting the fan blades in your Pc. A laptop fan is more awkward to get at.
I’ve previously used a vacuum cleaner hose to suck dirt out of the fan input holes on a laptop to clean it. Though purists might frown at this method. Don’t have the laptop turned on if you want to try this. If your not confident to do this then I suggest taking it to your local PC repair men.
Mechanical Hard Drives also make ticking noises when they are about to fail. I Sincerely hope that is not the case. If it is make sure you have backed up your Hard Drive.
Regards Bob.
Thanks for the input, Bob. I will try that.
Photo AI needs quite some processing power. Your CPU temperatures are still very low and just fine. Nothing to worry abouot. The cooling seems to do a great job!
