I have just purchased the update to Gigapixel 7.4.4 and it wont use my GPU for rendering, i have an NVIDIA RTX 3060 GPU updated to the latest studio drivers; i cannot find anywhere in the preferences to set the GPU
Hi @ah17,
To ensure Gigapixel AI 7.4.4 uses your NVIDIA RTX 3060 GPU, please give the following a whirl:
-
Set AI Processor in Gigapixel AI:
- Open Gigapixel AI, go to Preferences > General, and select your RTX 3060 under the “AI Processor” dropdown. Once selected, relaunch Gigapixel to see if it works properly. If it still doesn’t use your GPU, proceed to the next step.
-
Check for Driver Updates:
- Even though you’ve mentioned the drivers are up to date, it’s worth double-checking for any new updates via the NVIDIA website or the GeForce Experience app. If there are no new updates, continue to the next step.
-
Check Windows Graphics Settings:
- In Windows, go to System > Display > Graphics settings and ensure Gigapixel AI is set to use the “High performance” GPU (your RTX 3060).
-
NVIDIA Control Panel:
- Open the NVIDIA Control Panel, go to Manage 3D Settings, and set “Power management mode” to “Prefer maximum performance.”
-

I hope that helps!
