I thought about upgrading to v8 so I downloaded the trial. Since it won’t let me save any of my results, I can’t compare directly, but the preview is lower quality than the v6 results.
Using the standard models images come out softer and less detailed. It also seems to create artifacts in gradients and solid colors. Finally when upscaling images with circles or round edges it appears to introduce blocking artifacts that break up the shape.
Trying to use the generative models yields strange results, sometimes better, sometimes worse, sometimes crazy. Maybe it is due to it only processing a small portion of the image?
I’ve played around with the settings a bit, but can’t get any of my test images in the v8 preview window to look anywhere near as good as v6. I could just be doing something wrong, but can’t really play around with the generative models since I can’t export an entire image to compare settings & results.
Is there any way to get a real trial or preview so that I can compare and see if it’s worth the upgrade?
