Windows 11. Installed my Gigapixel 8 update. Program immediately closes on loading an image, either by drag/drop or file open methods. Have tried running as admin, does not help. Have tried changing between CPU and GPU processing, no change.
When I open Gigapixel again, the images do appear in the recently opened files area.
Exact same issue here, same tests and same result with image showing in recents.
Had the “Open Gigapixel, drag a file to it and it shuts down with no error” problem with my update to 8.3, based on a Features post on FB. Figured waiting a few days would produce an update. Yesterday checked and saw an update was available, 8.3.1. Applied the update and to my disappointment, same problem. Pretty embarrassing for Topaz Labs…
Same issue here. Log file states that a profile could not be found. Tried with jpg, tiff and orf files. Same result with all of them
Also, my latest updated version of Photo AI works fine on the same machine
Still happening. How many times do I have to jump through this uninstall/download/reinstall hoop?
Why can’t a local file of 8.2.2 be kept on my machine so I can roll back without a hassle?
Hi.
You can store as many previous versions of the software on your harddrive as you like
This is mandatory for me and for the same reason you’re asking I keep both the current and previous versions of all my Topaz software on my harddrive at all times.
For example, I have a folder on my harddrive entitled Topaz Gigapixel AI - Software within this folder I keep the current and previous versions and when a new version is released I download that version and replace it with the oldest version I have in my folder thus, always keeping two versions on my harddrive all the time.
To do this simply, download the latest version into your Downloads Folder from your My Products page within your Account page
Then, create a Topaz Gigapixel Software folder on a separate Harddrive and copy your newly downloaded Topaz Gigapixel application file to your newly created Software folder
If you like you can either wait for the next version to be released and copy that version to your folder enabling you to have both current and previous versions on your harddrive or download two versions from the Releases page on this site link below
Topaz Gigapixel AI
If you wish to do this for both Photo and Video AI then, here’s the Releases page links to for them as well
Topaz Photo AI
Topaz Video AI
Hope this helps
I got this error with any kind of image (JPG, PNG, etc) and I’m totally stuck.
Version 8.3.1 on Windows 11. GPU is Name NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060
Zillion of log error lines. Can I attach it?
I found the problem on my machine. I had Topa Gigapixel preferences set to auto and it would consistently shut down after opening. I changed the preference to CPU and it’s working now.
Yes, same here. But this is not a solution, it’s an useless workaround… we do need to use a GPU for image processing!
Same problem here…
I got same error with any kind of image (JPG, PNG, etc) wheb upscaling.
Windows 10. GPU is Name NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti

Same. Operating WIN10 though.
Same problem here. Totally unusable.
Updating to v8.3.2 does not help with this problem.
Its working now (v8.3.3) - Thanks for fixing!
