Gigapixel 8.0.2 | "Face Recovery" and "Model Settings" bugs

First of all I want to point out that - to me - the quality of the images increased in a high level from version 7 to version 8. Sometimes it is really magic and I highly appreciate that. The software noticeable needs more time, but that’s okay so far, I can deal with that.

But I have major problems making Topaz nearly worthless to me. I use Topaz Gigapixel on a business way and so I need a software that works reliable. I’m doing, or rather told I did lot of batch work and due to an old and meanwhile a new bug that is presently impossible. The current problems are, that the software unfortunately works highly unreliable:

1.) I reported months ago, that the activated “face recovery” option will get disabled during a running batch for any reasons. Mostly right after the first, at the latest with the third image of the image staple. That means that I have to stay on my PC and need to handle manually image by image. That is what I can’t deal with, folks. It is an old bug here and it is still here. Nothing helped, not even a complete new installation from the bottom, therefore the operation system. Any body here the same problem? Anybody how has a sollution?

2.) The the bug mentioned above a further one has to be added, namely the “model settings” option. Usually this option should has to be activated permanently here, but it also gets deactivated automatically right after an image gets closed after a work process. Totaly independing whether I worked on one photo or more.

Please, Topaz, check this out and fix it. Gigapixel is useless to me for this bugs and that hurts!

The face recovery is killing me. It has started turning it self off as of yesterday after I did the most recent update. I’ve had this software for two weeks and bought it to help speed up my holiday work flow and it is actualy delaying me. I’m heavily contemplating a return where I’m still under 30 days because one by one enhancement is ultimately pointless for me.

Any answers yet to this from Topaz? Its a real issue in an othewise wonderful product.

First things first, Alex, I totally agree to you, Gigapixel is a wonderful product - when and if it works on a professional base, but it doesnt. I neither got any reply nor they did anything remarkable to fix that. And it is an old problem I noriced from the very first day I bought the program. So far I remember it was version 7. 1 or 7.2. They know about the problem. I got a reply from a guy from Topaz and it was told they will fix it. It was fixed than for version 7.4 if I remember correctly, but was back with version 8. Additional to that a further issue with the “model settings” option occured. Here this option has to get manually activated whenever I load a new image. I reported also that but they are not interested into help me. To me this program makes no sense without a working batch option, si I will not buy it again. Hope you get more luck with it than me.
