LOL I’m here!

We are heads down building! Esther and Lingyu are doing an awesome job with Gigapixel and Photo AI release posts and will be doing more of these going forward too.

Since you’re in our Beta group you’ll see some of what we’ve been working on shortly…

Many exciting things in store, you’ll get to see one piece of that with the next Beta.

Stay tuned.

Cheers,

Dakota

I’m not going to repeat my boring comments about “artifacts” again. I only need Crop (from the original) and then Recovery for these cases. Even Mrs. White Stork is modest. But I always receive a “bonus” in the form of ugly artifacts in abundance, and for a long time, in all interim updates. It’s probably not a serious problem for others, but it is for me. Of the alternative SW tools, in the end I have to use HiPaw Photo AI, the functions mentioned above are also there, but without the bonus. Finally, the price of the HiPaw license is significantly lower. So I would rather use Gigapixel, but I really don’t enjoy deleting the bonus all the time. I want to make a calendar for my nephew, it’s 12 photos with birds, but the birds are doing something wrong, it seems to me.

Mrs. W. Stork is beautiful, for years she has been returning in the spring with her husband, Mr. W. Stork, to their nest 20 feet (6 meters) high, on a pole. They had two offspring again this year. (Sorry, I talked too much again as I can see.)

hello, I downloaded 7.3.2 twice, installed not successful. It doesn’t start ??? In photoshop also doesn’t work, PS closes after klicking it.

I don’t see any option to search for existing topic in the community page so I write some feedback after trying v7.3.2 here:

  1. Please don’t make default 100% zoom when switching between image!
It’s pretty annoying that we always have to zoom out by each image to see hold picture
Just let as it is from last picture would be nice.

  2. There is no more option to make “upscaling” on demand as in previous version e.g. v6.3.3
A lot of users want to finish all the settings and then click on “preview” to see to result.
This automatically update preview at each actions really drives my computer going crazy
Please readd this option to References!

Best regards,

Hi Minh,
Thanks for the feedback!

We are definitely trying to resolve zoom related issues but appreciate a call to attention on it.

As for the ability to re-add the upscale on demand option in Preferences - that’s a good one to add for sure and something that you can also mention in our Ideas page

Thanks for sharing this one!

Any chance you’d be willing to share your original image and include your enhancement settings so we can test this on our end?

You can securely submit one or two images/video clips to our Dropbox. Please let me know if you send something.

Hello Esther, I have uploaded the file artifacts.7z, containing the original photos and the result of their processing using the Recovery AI model. I also attached a ReadMe.txt with some additional explanations. I also added a simple artificial image and processed it using the same method with the same parameters – “uniform” artifacts created by Gigapixel in a solid blue color. Hopefully some of the data could be useful. Thanks for your interest in solving the artifact issue, I appreciate your positive attitude.

So I upgraded my Nvidia Studio driver to the new:
560.81-desktop-win10-win11-64bit-international-nsd-dch-whql.exe
and it all went to pot, upscalings went very (!) slowly (in both main and compare windows) and the results were just nonsense. Oh and the box showing what you were looking at in the top right window had the wrong aspect ratio, i.e. portrait for landscape compare windows, and I couldn’t move up to see the top of the image (like it was locked to the bottom part of the crop box).
Also it only seemed to have canned upscalings up to 4x shown and I had to pick 6x manually.
I converted back to:
555.85-desktop-win10-win11-64bit-international-nsd-dch-whql.exe
Without rebooting and it was all back to normal.
Possibly something else was going on, but looked like the graphics driver to me…

Win10 Pro x64, RTX2060

Mac user here - (M1, M2 and M3 - regular, Max and Max) and Gigapixel no longer works. The face upscaling works but no other upscaling works at all - it appears to try but all AI models are broken.

This is not related to MacOS version as it was working and then no longer does. Also - all 3 macs are running different OS’s Monterey and Sonoma.

I even tried running in rosetta - same error. There is something very very wrong here.

I’m having similar problems with other Topaz apps (Denoise and Sharpen) but Video AI works perfectly.

Plugins for Photoshop also shows no upscaling when used. There is something amiss here.

I’ve tried downgrading as well and that does not work on any machine.

When you upscale the face (face recovery) that very section of the image upscales and the hair around it seems to upscale but unlike in the past, nothing above the forehead or below the chin/neck area upscales. There is something broken here.

Every M-series mac I own does this - I even tried it on my iMac with the same errors - these are all clean installs so it’s not a conflict and the OS’s are all different. I even bought Photo AI to see if that would fix it and it has the exact same error.

M2 Mac Mini, Ventura latest.

Just updated to 7.3.2 in place, no issues (in-app updates seem to work properly for awhile now).

Random internet photo, upscaled 4X. No functional issues after trying different models and settings as well as exporting (Face recovery ON).

6X with Face recovery off and auto-pilot for other settings.

I haven’t noticed this before but in the latest release of Gigapixel AI the suggested file size of an export is completely wrong. I exported a jpeg image and the dialogue said it was was upscaling it from 92.6kb to 154.3MB! Once the file was exported the dialogue said it had upscaled it to 3.4MB. The upscale was 6x of a small file 828x1396 file set for low res v2. I tried some other profiles and the export size was still wrong.

I have the same experience. For example, for “Upscale 6x” from 1.8 MB (bmp data), the export window shows me a result size of 4.7 GB (sic!), but the final result on disk is 125 MB (uncompressed tiff, so compression does not play a role as I initially assumed). Similarly strange numbers for other types of photos (jpeg, etc.). So I don’t know what it actually shows me. I just ignore it. It’s weird, it should make some sense, but I can live without it. I’m waiting for other things to be fixed…

Works in Ps 2024 via File > Automate for me. Win 11. AMD RX6800 XT processor.

Hope you can figure out why you can’t get it to launch…
