Gigapixel 7.0.4 Art/CG model giving grid pattern artifacts

Gigapixel V 7.04, upscaling with Art CG, 2x, 4x or 6x, is producing a grid pattern, very noticeable in large areas with no detail, a sky for example. This is new since v6. I’m using it mostly for upscaling illustrations vector style created with MidJourney. Again, not visible before the release of V7. I’m on an iMac 2020 running Big Sur 11.7.10. Probably wii need to down grade to v6 if possible. Anyone else noticing this grid pattern in the Art / CG AI model?

Could you show me an example of the artifacts and the original?

Yes, however, I just now downgraded to 6.3 and realize the pattern is in fact showing in the older version s well, never noticed it before. Uploading two images, clearly labeled “original” and “upscaled” look at the sky a faint grid pattern can be seen, not visible in the original. Additionally, I upscaled the original in Photoshop and the grid pattern does NOT emerge.

Could you send me the original image to my Dropbox so I can test this on my end?

Let me know once the image is uploaded, please.

I was able to upload this image and then used Gigapixel v7.0.4 as a standalone and saved as a PNG with the Standard v2 model. I wasn’t able to replicate this on my end. See my results below.

did you use the Art CG AI Model? That was listed in the first post, the other models are not creating the issue, only the Art CG.

I seemed to have completely ignored that. I was able to reproduce this for the Art/CG model. My apologies.

I will raise this to our Gigapixel product specialist and see what info I can get. For now, please use the other models with images that experience this.

Thanks, love the program, the Art CG works better for some AI graphics so i’ve been upscaling two versions and compositing them in photoshop. Time consuming, but sometimes worth it.

I appreciate your understanding. I have added this as an issue in our system so we can have this looked at.

If you experience this with more images, please let me know and I can add them to the issue thread on my end.
