Gigapixel 4.4.5 crashes when opening image on Macbook Pro Catalina

I’m running Gigapixel 4.4.5 on a 2018 Macbook Pro with 10.15.7 Catalina. It has 32GB of memory and a Radeon Pro 560X 4GB Intel UHD Graphics 630 graphics card.

My problem: When I try to open an image for processing from the dialog box Gigapixel crashes. Same thing happens when I drag/drop an image into Gigapixel. It crashes as soon as it starts to load the image.

How can I fix this?

If a reinstall doesn’t help you will need to raise a support request at the main website as your version is old with v5.6.1 being the latest, instructions contained in the banner on this forum.
