Clipped highlights are the bane of digital photography, especially with jpgs, but even raw files. Blown-out highlights in clouds, wedding dresses, foreheads and cheekbones, reflections on metals - the list is endless. It seems that Topaz is close to having the tools for creating plausible versions of these missing data points using generative tools.
We can pull seemingly endless data out of shadows, but it’s time we could do more with blown highlights.
