Frame Rate Resampling with 5.3

Using 5.3.2
iMac, Mac OS Big Sur 11.2.3

I regret updating to 5.3 and the new interface. For my job, I have to frequently convert standard def Lower Field first Interlaced 29.97fps files to 59.94, WITHOUT any kind of DNR, as accurate to the original file as possible, grain and compression and all, which was simple using Proteus Manual in the previous iteration of Topaz Video AI. Now when using Proteus Manual with all paramaters set at 0, it makes the final file absolutely smoothed over with horrendous DNR. I don’t how to avoid doing it as everything is set at zero. Please let me know how I can get the lowest NR/AI smoothing/processing possible! Thanks.

What version of the app were you using before updating to v5.3.2? Are you able to share screenshots of the situation for reference?

You are still able to use the previous version if you want to with your license. Do you have the previous model iterations turned on in the Preferences>Advanced>Features section?

This will allow you to use previous versions of the models if desired.

Thanks, I will get screenshots when I’m back at my computer. I guess another way of thinking about my question is: if you wanted to convert an interlaced 640x480 29.97fps file to 59.94 progressive, what settings would you choose if your objective was to get the least amount of processing possible? In the previous interface version, I chose Proteus Manual and kept all parameters at zero, and it did the trick.
