Flawless no more - unusable due to crashes, etc

I have a fairly high end PC (i9-14900k, nVidia RTX4090…Topaz Video AI has worked perfectly until the past few months. Now, it is not usable…I don’t want to say junk because it is (or was) a great program. I keep holding out that there will be an update that fixes the issue but am slowly beginning to lose faith. Topaz Video AI now nails the processor all the way to max and locks everything on the computer….hard reboot required. Or, the program will freeze on the first mouse click after opening. Really…so far, this has NOT been fixed with the updates. Interesting that this is the ONLY program that has ANY issues with this PC build. Yes, I have a lot of other media processing software.

There were many reports last year of issues with the i9-14900K series CPU’s running into similar issues that required a BIOS update. Not saying that is the issue you are seeing but if you have not updated your BIOS might want to check that as an option.

If you want to send the system profile report and the logs to the support team, help@topazlabs.com , we can take a look to see if we see anything else that might be a cause or contributing to the issue when running the Video app. Our app does push most systems to their limits and can showcase issues that other apps wont with hardware performance.

How To Obtain Your System Profile (Windows)

To gather logs, please select Help > Logging > Get Logs for Support and attach the zip file to your reply.

Thank you for the timely response. I will try the bios update as you suggest. However, note that I attempted to install the latest version of Video AI on a different workstation, good spec just not quite as fast…I have run the Topaz suite on that workstation as well with NO issues…same as the current workstation.
On the alternate workstation, Video AI won’t even finish an installation.

Also, the Topaz Video AI Add-in for DaVinci Resolve runs on the current workstation with no issues.

This seems limited to the Video AI app on both workstations.
All these apps (previous versions) have previously run without issues on both these machines.

After going through the PC components and applying updates including hardware BIOS Video AI seems to be working…stable system under load. Thank you for the information. I will do the same for the other workstation.
