I don’t know if this has ever come up as a topic. I am restoring video footage shot in the 1980s with a three-tube color camera where the color tube “registration” process was not properly done by the videographer. Without proper alignment of the three tubes, the image suffers from overall softening and will show red and/or blue information slightly misaligned vertically and/or horizontally. In the digital world, might it be possible to shift R and/or B pixel values up or down or left or right such that it would effectively “re-register” the color values to correct the problem?
