as the topic says
Think is very simple, photo ai is a very good all rounder, many people use it to enlarge, denoise, sharpen and restore old photos, we also have exposure and color correction, but even using all of them, “fogged” photos still are fogged, probably would be good to have something contrast/microcontrast specific, something similar to lightroom or affinity or other software to dehaze photos
Thanks for the idea and suggestion! Make sure that you do not forget to vote for your idea
I would love a dehaze using AI. I currently use Camera RAW filter (PhotoShop) and the dehazer in that which is good but can’t be tweaked. I have to copy to a new layer and use layer blend sliders and layer mask to edit the overall effect.
Hi Topaz Team,
please create a tool to eliminate Heat Distortion !!!
Please please please
I second this request. I find myself reaching out past 50 yards on sport photos and run into heat distortion. I ahve hundreds of examples. Let me know and I can provide training images. All my attempts to fix using existing capabilities do not work.
Hi.
Please take a moment and search the community forum and see if this suggestion has already been requested before posting
Dehaze is not what he is talking about. Although it might help a tiny bit. I believe he is talking about heat waves rising off of hot surfaces that distort the image. This is real common in sports when you’re shooting with a long lens.
I tried the Dehaze Adjustment in TS and was pretty impressed with the results. The Dehaze Adjustment by itself was not enough to complete the job so I used Basic Exposure and Levels to bring it to a usable photo. Results follow Before - After
Great save.
Now you have curiosity going. What are they doing? And, what is that in the foreground; a mechanical pig?
Nicely done …
I’d have to say that this was a first class restoration. Night and Day.
Kathy: that is what is referred to as a 3-D target for archery practice and tournaments. The event was an archery tournament.
I don’t know if you can see it but there is a circle above the target’s front leg and shoulder. Inside that circle are three smaller circles one of which is designated as the “12” ring before the start of the tournament. Anything outside of the large ring is 5 points, within the large circle is 8 points, in any of the non-selected circles is 10 points. This team won the tournament.
The event was held by the Houston Oilman’s Association to raise money for the St. Jude Foundation. BTW, one of those archers is related to me.
Thank you Kathy_9, BobKramer, ellemat2 for viewing and commenting.
Thanks for a great explanation and the money went to a worthy cause.
Very nice improvement and very interesting discussion!
Good luck with the hurricane!
Hi, just got Photo AI.
For this product to be more useful it needs some functionality like dehaze.
Plus some basic lighting tools (ideally with some AI assist but it doesn’t have to be).
I disagree. Photo AI is an excellent starting (or ending) point in the development process. It shouldn’t become bogged down with other tools that your editor already has.
When/if it becomes a fully-fledged editor, it will likely become too complex, unwieldy and expensive.
The reason I’m asking is dehaze can interfere with the Topaz adjustments if applied outside Topaz.
The ask isn’t to make it a general editor at all - even the Devs have mentioned though that basic things like crop and lighting adjustments are needed.
Dehaze is a type of lighting/sharpening adjustment anyway, and sharpening is a major module in Photo AI.
