Hi everyone,
I used Video AI successfully last year on my son’s gaming laptop: an i5 with an RTX 3060 (6 GB) and 16 GB of RAM. It worked without any real issues. GPU temps were hitting 95 °C, fans were screaming, and RAM and CPU usage were spiking to the point where I expected crashes, but it somehow completed 16-hour renders.
I recently upgraded to a system with an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, an Nvidia 5070 Ti (16 GB VRAM), 32 GB of RAM, and a 2 TB SSD. Since then, I’ve had nothing but problems. Topaz Video AI and also Topaz Video hasn’t been able to finish a single full render because of errors, although I can complete small test renders.
It’s not the video files themselves, as the errors occur at random times on the same file. The same thing happens with older files that rendered fine using Video AI early last year.
I’m seeing massive GPU usage fluctuations in GPU-Z, but the average load only seems to sit around 13–33%. Sometimes the render just stops with an error. Other times it runs at around 14 fps on a four-hour clip, which seems sort of reasonable, but then it randomly pauses itself. When I press resume, it suddenly claims it’s rendering at 144 fps with only five minutes left, which is clearly incorrect, and the render then fails. While rendering CPU usually stays around 45% while RAM usage it at a similar number. This was the opposite to the LAPTOP but it still used to render, actually Video AI really seemed to use everything the Laptop had and it was still more reliable. The 5070ti stays qyiet as a mouse because it doesn’t even seem to be used to it’s potential and it still get error messages.
I have attached the log from the last failed render
Any assistance would be very much appreciated, thanks.
