This was shot in the dark at 1/5 sec shutter speed, hand-held, 24 mm, F 1.4, ISO 12800.
The only lighting was the red headlamps the astronomers were wearing.

Bob, if you can you should try to go to Joshua Tree National Park or Death Valley National Park after dark sometime - the skies can be amazing!
