Error message after installing new update says to move G Al to the trash

Using a new MacBook. Never got my subscription to transfer to it successfully, so I finally bought a new one. (Sigh.) And now, after installing the most recent update to GAl my model does nothing-- looks just like the original. And then I get the error message saying uninstall the program – which is not as simple as it sounds.
In the past month, I;ve gone from being a highly satisfied user of a couple of years to being very very very unhappy. Please help.

Did you make use of a service such a Migration Assistant after purchasing your new MacBook?

If so, this is known to cause conflicts with our applications and you’ll need to reinstall with the steps below.

  1. Delete the installed Gigapixel by moving it to the trash or using the uninstaller if it has one.
  2. Remove your plist files.
Note: After deleting your plist files, restart your machine, and clear your trash.
  3. Install a fresh Gigapixel installer from our Topaz Labs Legacy Download Page.
Note: If you use Photoshop or Lightroom Classic, close these applications before installing a fresh version.
  4. Once installed, open the application as a standalone.

Let me know if this helps.

Whoops, Justin replied at the same time as me

Thanks so much for your prompt and helpful response Justin!

While I’ve spent a lot of time on this problem, your insight and instructions were apparently just what was needed. I’ve been using it this afternoon since reinstalling etc, and I think all is working again. And oh my, I’m been to my plist files now, which is more than most people can say they’ve done in life!!

Thank you, thank you.

Lindy
