I recently had a video I was trying to stabilise. It was a Go pro pole mount windsurfing video. The video had a lot of room to crop at the bottom but the app cropped off the top which meant it cropped me out of the video. An option to input into the stabilization which area to crop ( from bottom / side etc ) would fix this.

Unfortunately, at the moment, the app doesn’t offer a way to choose which part of the frame gets cropped during stabilization. The auto-crop is applied based on motion analysis, even if that means cutting off the top.
You can try add black bars at the top (or on generall arround). Then after stabilization happened pending on what it has done, cut the rest of the bars away, maybe by doing some slightly upscale until it’s fit desired resolution. You can do this for example with Virtualdub.
