It appears that when I send an image I have processed in LR “Develop” module to Ai4 that it is the original raw file and not my processed in LR file which is loaded in to Ai4. Thus I imagine any changes I have made in “Develop” LR module, such as Exposure, Highlights, Whites, Blacks etc are lost. Does this mean I should first process the original raw file in Ai4 and then send it back to LR to do the adjustments I normally do in “Develop” module?
Hello! This was always the case on all Photo AI versions, using the RAW workflow, Photo AI can only display the file as shot and will not take into account the LR changes. If you were using the incorrect workflow previously (Edit in) then yes it takes in all changes as it flattens the file to a non-RAW TIFF, that is not recommended as converting the very important RAW file to TIFF mid workflow will give bad results as it revokes access to RAW Denoise. Once the DNG file is back from Photo AI, that is when you want to do light/color and crop edits. If these are already done, you can copy/paste them from the original to the DNG!
thanks. I had no idea when I ordered Ai4 that my workflow should be first Ai4 and then LR. I would still purchase Ai4 as it really improved a couple of my “soft” images but such a basic issue as to proper “workflow” shows how completely ignorant I am to Ai4. Guess I need to watch a few more YouTube videos.
If you had LrC (Lightroom Classic) we support it’s plugin! If it’s LR CC, then have to start with Photo AI 4 as standalone, export, then go into LR!
I have it installed as a plug in in Classic. I must give Topaz credit as it was very easy to download and automatically installed in to Classic.
