When roundtrip a canon raw from LightroomClassic to PhotoAI4 (Autopilot on NR+Sharpening) it comes back with altered crop/lens correction. I have turned everything related to lens correction etc. OFF in the settings. Even after I turned off these settings there is still a perceivable difference in the image when returned as dng in LRclassic… Not that the result is catastrophic or unpleasing - but I need to know and trust what the tool is applying when/where.
Hi.
Lightroom Classic’s Lens Correction settings don’t carry over when round-tripping a RAW file to Topaz Photo AI.
Even if you’ve turned off Lens Correction in Photo AI, the DNG that comes back might still appear different because Lightroom’s original lens correction settings aren’t retained.
Here’s the official Topaz recommended RAW workflow
(We Recommend using Unedited RAW Files with this plugin because Topaz Photo AI does not read RAW edits. If you change the Crop Size of an image, it is not reflected in the application preview. All edits except for crop are copied.)
Basically, the Recommended Workflow is to send your RAW file to Topaz Photo AI first before applying any Lightroom Adjustments, including Lens Correction.
Once the image is processed and returned as a DNG, you can then apply Lightroom’s lens correction.
Additionally, Crop Adjustments don’t transfer either Photo AI doesn’t reflect Crop changes in its preview, and when the image returns to Lightroom, the crop might not be applied.
This explains why you’re seeing a difference even after disabling Lens Correction.
Here’s the link about using Topaz Photo AI with Lightroom Classic
Hope this helps
In addition, you may also be unaware that if you apply the Adjust Lighting or Balance Colour Enhancements to a RAW File then, that image will be saved as a TIFF File because, those two Enhancements aren’t compatible with RAW Files.
Hello @danstangerup
On top of what AND-E said, please note that the lens profiles/lens correction we use in Photo AI are not the same as the ones Adobe is using. This is specific to each program, and the end results can differ a little bit.
If you have an issue where the lens profile is lost or if you have other issues, please contact us at jelp@topazlabs.com, and we will investigate with you.
Thank you,

Understood. So this is not like in DxO PureRaw. I will just have to adapt to this then.
Thanks for the explanation making it easier for me to navigate.
Cheers /Dan
Thanks for this bonus information.
Makes sense - I think I recall that happening to me at some point and I did not know why.
This one I knew already - thanks anyway
