Education - How to remove the automatic Sharpening that LR (not Classic) puts on RAW files

When I open any of my Sony A7RV RAW files when using PAI 3.3.3 in stand alone mode, they look slightly soft compared to what they look like in LR Desktop (not Classic) as well as Bridge and PS.

Steps to reproduce issue:

  1. Start PAI
  2. Open any Sony A7RV RAW file
    DxDiag.txt (124.5 KB)

    PAI Log Files.zip (410.2 KB)

Make sure there isn’t any default/automatic sharpening being applied by LR. Depending on how you’re set up, some of the raw processors (LR, C1, DXO) do some basic operations on the raws. Try comparing the pre- and post-tpai raws in LR with the same settings to make sure the dng isn’t getting worse.

Thanks, you were right on the money! I had totally forgotten that both LR and Camera RAW apply a default sharpening of 40 to all RAW files. When I take that down to zero, the RAW files look the same as they do in PAI.
