Education | How To Edit RAW Monochrome Or Black & White Files with Lightroom Classic Plugin

  1. Convert a RAW (.NEF) color image in LrC to B&W using the B&W button or V touch
  2. Send the image to Photo AI via “Edit In” | Topaz Photo AI.
    Format Tiff; ProphotoRVB; 16 bits/componant ; 300 dpi ; no compression
  3. Edit the image in Photo AI.
  4. Save to Lightroom Classic.
  5. the returned image is unreadable in LrC. Message error reads : The file appears to be damaged or not supported

Topaz needs to make a list of known, fairly reproducible/common bugs (e.g., the LrC crash and so much with the new MacOS). Along with solutions/workarounds/acknowledgments. I also seem to remember something about when to apply grayscale profiles but I can’t find it anymore.

@bob.steventon and @marc.papadopoulos - This is correct, with a RAW file (monochrome or not), it’s important to use the RAW file path. This is especially important for monochrome files, as we do not support non-RAW monochrome files yet.

@david.horita - yes, 2025 resolution plan in the works, and this is exactly what we are doing, going from most recent down, and in both the General and Bugs and Issues forums, creating merged and known pinned issues/FAQs as well!
