Education | How To Access Custom Mask In Super Focus V2

Hi,
To my dismay its now impossible to make a custom mask with latest versions superfocus both v1 and v2
This is the final blow to the continuous dismay of maks.

Custom masks are absolutely essential, and frankly my support to topaz will disappear with them.
In sharpen AI there were great, real mask with alpha channel, real levels of transparency.

Then Photo AI came in with the dreaded AI brush, and real tranparency levels were gone.
And now this, no more custom mask

This is a terrible path, we need more alpha masks, not less.
Ideally we should be able to have one mask for each tool, with variable levels of transparency.

The cutoms mask needs to comme back big time

Hi.

Custom Selections / Masking is available with Super Focus

Here’s how
Click on the Super Focus tab and from here you are able to select one of the Automatic Masking Options from the drop down menu which are All, Subject, Background, Portrait, Landscape and Sky before Rendering the image

Yes you are correct at this stage there is no option for a Custom Selection

However. If you go ahead and Render the image and once the Render has finished

You are now able to select one of the Custom Selection Brushes Superpixel, Standard, or the Object Selection brush.

Basically, you can only select Automatic Selections before the image is Rendered and Custom Selections after the image has been Rendered.

Hope this helps

Hello @vincent.lugnier - as Ande-e mentions, the brush is still there, but the development team has changed the workflow of v2 and you can see the steps here:
Super Focus | Topaz Photo AI -Just like v1, the whole image is processed no matter the selection, the only difference, and custom selection will be available to tweak after the process!
