After I am done exporting my edited photo, I need to take extra steps to close the images. Possible to put a check box that will allow me to choose close the images I worked on and exported, once done exporting it will auto close those images.

This is already possible or at least similar to what you’re asking within Preferences

Simply goto the Preferences Menu or press the keyboard shortcut Command/Control ,

The Preferences window will open, on the left are the three main Categories/Sections Application, Autopilot and Shortcuts below each Section are the subsections

When you click on one of these Sections or Subsections, the options for that Category will appear on the right

Click on the Export section under the Application category

The Export category will appear on the right, there are only two options which are > Use Adobe DNG SDK for Export < and > Close Images After Saving <

Under the > Close Images After Saving < you’ll see below this > Images Will Remain Open After They Are Saved < and to your right you’ll see a Toggle Switch

Simply click on the Toggle Switch to enable it and then, click on the blue Save button in the bottom right hand corner of the Preferences Menu
Now when you click on the Export Image button and after saving your image you can close the box and the image will automatically close for you
