Catchlights are very important parts of the images, not problems that need to be removed.
Hi Christopher.
I’ve now tried it with several images and have notice in some cases it softens the Catchlights that’s all and easily rectified
It would be interesting to see some before and after images possibly a closeup of the eyes for reference
Thank you
Here’s a Before and After of the iamge that prompted my post. Yes, it’s easily fixed, but since TPS already knows what a face is, perhaps it should also learn what eyes are, and that eyes often have catchlights that don’t need to be fixed? Just a suggestion.
Yes, similar results to mine however simply applying Sharpening especially the new Portrait Sharpen either before or Recover Faces made the Catchlights standout again.
Having said that, if Topaz did slitely modify Dust & Scratch to avoid Catchlights then I agree that would great so, why not make your suggestion an Idea so others can show an interest and Vote for it.
Andy
What I’ve suggested we need is a selection editor like we have for super focus. Let it run on everything then remove anywhere you don’t want the effect. The current editor let’s you apply additional amounts of the process, but it cannot remove the process.
Sounds great Andy I’ll certainly vote if you put it forward as an idea
May you and your loved ones have a great New Year Andy ![]()
