macOS Sonoma 14.5
Photo AI 3
Sending processed images to two folders. One image goes to correct folder on external hard drive and now AI photo is sending a second images to Pictures folder on computer internal drive causing computer to “freeze up”
I’d like to get a better understanding of the workflow you are using that you are having trouble with while using Topaz Photo AI.
Please take a screen recording of this behavior so I can see exactly what is happening. Loom is a great free application for this: Loom | Free Screen & Video Recording
Also, after you have replicated this workflow, go to Help > Open Log Folder; please send me all of the files within that folder. You should be able to attach them directly as a response to this thread.
If you would prefer you can securely submit your files(s) to my Dropbox using the link below. Make sure to send me a note to let me know you sent something.
Let me preface the following remarks with the comment that I am technology challenged - a very senior senior citizen - but my passion for photography has not diminished. Unfortunately I find your request a little overwhelming [my fault = not yours].
Over the years I have processed thousands and thousands of images using Topaz products. The workflow is simple and straightforward. Camera images (CRII) are downloaded into a separate workfile, reviewed, and the keepers are processed with Photo AI. The resulting dng files are then put into Adobe Lightroom (JPEG). Two separate files stored separately.
Recently Photo AI is producing two dng files - one goes back into the original file folder [as planned] and second copy is being sent to the internal computer Pictures file. For example, yesterday 179 images were put in the Pictures folder. The internal computer memory becomes full and all processing stops. None of the keyboard strokes work.
This started happening a few weeks ago when macOS was upgraded to Sonoma 14.5. My sense of it is some switch is not set right -either on my MAC or internally in Photo AI.
Any guidance you can provide would certainly be appreciated.
Best regards,
Frank Justo

After you have done this, disable any antivirus, firewall, VPN, or proxy software that might be active on your computer. These tools are sometimes known to interfere with the installer’s ability to download the model files.
Please also ensure that the Topaz Photo AI installer has all the proper settings in your system by going to your Mac System Settings > Privacy & Security tab and scrolling down to the security section. You will want to make sure you have 'App Store and identified developers ’ selected. Here is a video example:
