I’ve used Remask 5 as a plug-in for the past 9 years and recently my computer running CS6 has died on me. I have another computer with CS6 ready to go but I also was open to using a newer version of PS. I’m running the 2021 version on another laptop, but Remask as a plug-in no longer works and the program version doesn’t cut as well. I miss the plug-in dearly and was wondering if they offered a modern product that did the same thing? I tried researching on the site but wasn’t sure if any of the new stuff offered something similar. I’m having the worst time using Photoshop’s regular tools and miss my quick workflow.
In Topaz Photo some of the filters include a masking tool that works fairly well, but the workflow would be quite different than what I think you are looking for.
I too love Remask . If you own Remask 5, it works as a standalone, as well as a plug-in.

BTW, the plug-in version works well for me on Windows 11 with PaintShop Pro; latest (2023) as well as older versions.
