Discussion | Selective Sharpening Tips

If you have an image with some important parts out of focus, you may try this.

  • Refine to “None”
  • “Add” brush to important unsharp parts, ONLY
  • Do “Done”
  • In “Sharpen” tools select one to best suite your needs
  • Select “Amount” for all tools options
  • If neccessary, use other tools too.
  • Done

Sightly out of focus, due to DOF

Thanks for sharing this tip!

This is a great approach for handling selective sharpening, especially for images where depth of field has left key areas slightly soft. Using the Refine brush with “None” and manually adding back the important regions can give you much more control over the final result.
