Is it possible to add Recover Details value via command line when upscaling with Dione Robust v3 or v1?
I find it strange that developers decided not to add Recover Details option for these models in the graphical interface, probably on account of interlaced content, but the truth is Dione Robust are horrible at deinterlacing anyway, so I doubt that anyone uses them with interlaced content, but they are quite good with progressive/detelecined/deinterlaced dvds, the only thing that will make them better is Recovery Details option (which I guess makes a mix between the original and upscaled videos).
Dione v3 was created years before Proteus v1. Think of it as an old single function tool. It was made to do a job and it does that job. Other newer tools with more functions have been made to replace it.
Dione was made to take one input video and nothing else. It does one thing with that input. It either does that one thing well, or poorly. Proteus, on the other hand, was made to take a video input and several other parameters. It was easy to add the blend filter available in ffmpeg to Proteus. Proteus also is one of the tools that is currently being improved on. They might have stopped, but compared to Dione, it’s actually being thought about on how to improve it.
You could figure out how to run it in the command.
Looks like it’s a little more complicated than other filters.
Dione AI was created before there was Recover Details. it’s kind of a legacy AI, which works pretty well in some cases.
