Different behaviour in Standalone and Photoshop Plugin for some files

Hello, I’m using Topaz Photo Ai for my scanned (Minolta Dimage 5400) and converted (Grain2ToPixel) negatives. When using the standalone App, the autopilot wants to sharpen the images while with the Photoshop Plugin, autopilot wants to denoise the images (which gives the better results)
I would upload some examples, but these are tif files and not allowed to upload

Dropbox File Request

Importing the file to Photoshop can change it so it is expected that they have slightly different results.

Hello Lingyu,

I submitted a file to Dropbox. Since the installation of Topaz Photo AI 1.4.2. the ‘Autopilot’ wants to sharpen in both cases, the Photoshop Plugin and the standalone app. In Version 1.4.1 the ‘Autopilot’ in the Photoshop Plugin wants to do denoise. Which , in my opinion, is the better choice.

Thanks in advance

Manfred

Thanks for sending this. I shared it with my team so we can look into this.

We haven’t changed the autopilot but the behavior seems different than before.

I tested with the same file in v1.4.2, v1.4.1, with stand alone and Photoshop. I had the same results in all these examples.

Did you make any changes to the image in Photoshop that could have changed the behavior in v1.4.1?

Lingyu, no i didn’t make changes. Weird. But for now I changed my workflow and inspect every image in the standalone app. It’s a bit time consuming but makes sure the results are OK.
Thanks
Manfred
