Looking up close at some of the footage, I’m seeing a lot of familiarities to things I’ve seen before when upscaling older content to 4k.
Do we know if VEAI was used in Peter Jackson’s workflow?
It certainly looks like it.
Literally coming here after googling while watching the show for the first time. I was saying it looks like Iris v1. You can easily see it around Paul’s eyes in episode 2 when he looks to our right — the lines in the eyelids can be too sharp or contrast-y. And Ringo’s whites of his eyes look too white — that’s a big common problem.
Considering the documentary was released in 2021 and Iris wasn’t available until June 13th, 2023… It’s not Iris, but it could still be that VEAI 2 was used in it.
Good point. I really wonder what it is then! What was the biggest most professional tool in 2021? If it was Topaz then which model was it – not Gaia surely.
