Is there any way to do noise cancellation for only background i.e. to other areas other than the “subject”? I don’t think at present there is a way to do it. At present, to achieve this I am doing double processing. Once process the background for noise removal (either in Photo AI or Noiseless AI) and then sharpen (using photo AI) and combine both using layer options in PS. If one can apply noise cancellation only to background (or other than subject), it would reduce the workflow to great extent and make it one click option. If you are wondering why not apply both noise cancellation and sharpen to same photo and sharpen to only subject, both together generally create more artifacts than using one alone on the photograph.
As a bird photographer, it would be useful to have a feature to denoise everything but the subject. Working in low light as we often do, we have to denoise a lot of our photos. Unfortunately the denoise function often leaves photos of birds looking like paintings. However the denoise function for the sky or landscape is well needed. At present we denoise everything or subject only. Sometimes i would like to denoise everything but the subject so it doesn’t over cook the bird and make it look unrealistic. Separate controls for subject and background would be perfect!

Same with me, @lee.pitts. Bird photography is my main focus and at present, I process them as two layers. One for the background and one for the subject and then use masking in PS to merge both.

With bird photography typically it’s the noise in the background that ruins the image. Most of the time less noise reduction, if any at all is necessary in the bird itself. I think it would be great if noise could be adjusted separately in the object and the surroundings. The program does select the object but not always right, so I would like more control over the selection.

Es wäre toll wenn es diese Möglichkeit bei Sharpening geben würde.
When is Topaz AI planning to include birds as a subject? Would really help my workflow.
