Denoise AI RAW Handling

I use a Canon 70D and have found that using out-of-camera RAW files with Denoise AI causes the image to darken, have poor colour and often ineffective NR, however if I convert the same file to TIFF in Lightroom before using Denoise AI it works much better with no darkening and much more detail - is this normal?

All RAW converters have different conversions, applications such as DeNoise offer the conversions as an alternative for those that don’t have a RAW converter, but it will be improved over time.

I would recommend you convert to TIF in LR when calling DeNoise but make sure you don’t apply LR noise reduction in order to get the best out of DeNoise.
