Yes, the scene was composed. The deer family was photographed just as you see it, grazing in the grass alongside of the road. It was at that golden hour just before sunset. The background left a lot to be desired, they were grazing in the middle of a traffic roundabout with signs and other distractions and not where they would normally be seen. The habitat where they live is composed of sand dunes and brush, the lighthouse is visible. The dunes and lighthouse were composed of actual photos of the locale. The lighting enhancement, Restyle…which tied the tones together. In this instance, the composition is closer to what you might normally expect to see than the original photo.
