DaVinci Resolve Video AI Plug-in doesn't do anything?

Windows 11
DaVinci Resolve 18.6
Video AI Plug-In installed

When I drag the Video AI Enhancement FX onto my clip on the timeline, bring up inspector, set to Proteus and Auto, then hit play on my timeline I see no difference at all?

I tried a Quick export on a marked section of my clip with Topaz FX and the export is identical to the original?

Thoughts/Suggestions?

Cheers, Rob.

When you installed the plug-in and open Resolve, were you already logged into your Video AI app and what version of Video AI were you using?

Long delay in response, sorry. I stopped using Topaz Video AI with DaVinci Resolve, latest 6.2 version OFX will crash DR 19.1.4 immediate on start … had to delete the Video AI plugins from the folder in order to get DR 19.1.4 running.

The team is working on a patch to resolve the latest issues with the OFX plugin causing DaVinci to not launch. Removing the plugin from the OFX folder will allow both apps to be used as stand-alones while they work on this.

TopazVideoAI plugin for Resolve does not work.
It is best to use only TopazVideoAI separately and then in Resolve.

Problem with using Video AI standalone is that it can’t work with encoding formats that DaVinci Resolve can work with. Since most of the time one works the pipeline from source it means we have to use Resolve, convert footage to a codec Video AI supports, then use Video AI to perform cleanup (upscale or grain removal etc.), then back to Resolve … this excludes any colorist work. If working with RAW S-Log or D-Log then that adds even more to the workflow … for most editors this is NOT viable to meet delivery deadlines. So saying “do standalone” is basically saying don’t use Video AI and find an alternative for Resolve.

Do not use the plug ins.
First use TopazVideoAi always the latest version and load the exported video in FFV1 into Resolve then edit with Resolve then final render export to MP4 format H264 8Bit.

Can’t do that with colorist where one needs to remove noise first or else the scopes will be skewed make color adjustments very difficult. Workflow was:

Load S-LOG (or D-Log) footage
Apply LUT
Denoise (Video AI plugin)
Color or Edit (visa-versa pending what’s needed)
Final out
