Dark boxes on Topaz output

I just got Topaz and with my first underwater images Topaz creates dark (under exposed) boxes around the image.

Steps to reproduce issue:

  1. Step 1 I used the plug-in under the file menu in LR
  2. Step 2 checked the different ways to sharpen and then applied Topaz to the image.
  3. Step 3 went back to LR and looked at the DNG Topaz created.

Topaz Photo AI, the latest version on Mac. I downloaded the app and then was told to update…which I did. I can send/upload and example if that works here.

Thanks for reaching out. Please send the following information so I can try to reproduce this.

  1. The original image file.
  2. The processed image.
  3. A screenshot or description of the settings panel so I can see what adjustments were turned on.

You can securely submit your image(s) to my Dropbox using the link below. Please be sure to send me a note to let me know you sent something.

How much system memory do you have on this computer? We have a known issue where low system memory or the application running out of system memory can cause these dark boxes in the output.

Aloha Lingyu,

I sent a folder to your dropbox.

I look forward to hearing from you.

I sent to your dropbox a while ago…any idea what is going on?

Hey David, sorry for the delay and thank you for following up. I got caught up in other work.

It looks like this is an issue with the Remove Noise - Raw v1 models which we fixed in the v2 models. The v1 models produced a grid in the output with backgrounds that were mostly one color.

Please try using the v2 models which should be recommended automatically with the v2.0.2 release and after.

Let me know if that helps.
