CUDA set up problem

I am trying to install CUDA 13..2.1 following the Nvidia Quick Start Guide. All is OK until (in the Guide) section 3.1 Network Installer para. 8.

The Guide shows:

After nbody.cpp

nbody_vs2017.sln

xxxxx

nbody_vs2019.sln

xxxxx

render_particles.cpp

In my case I see

nbody.cpp

render_particles.cpp

There is no mention of any VS Version.

I downloaded VisualStudio 2026 and the CUDA installer recognised it during installation (even though it seemed to be expecting version 2022).

Everything seems OK except that when I follow the instruction in para.7 I do not see in para.8 what the guide says that I should.

Please help.

Thank you

Are you looking to install the CUDA toolkit for running LLM’s locally and develop apps? For running Topaz Video on the system, you should only need to install the latest Studio Driver from NVIDIA drivers update page and that will install the CUDA aspects needed.

The toolkit is something in addition that is not required unless you are looking to run other aspects, or develop app tools that require it.

Thanks for your reply. Thanks also to you yourself and to your colleagues for the quick and professional way that you have all helped me with this.

Yes, I only want CUDA for your Studio. I thought that I had to install the Toolkit. Via Command Prompt I did input nvidi-smi and the first line of the result says “Driver Version 595.79 CUDA Version 13.2”. So that looks all ready to go.

I will now place my order.

Thanks again.
