Crop tool not working

Edit to add: The issue seems to be specific to this video. I’ve got others that crop properly.

I’m new to Video, so may be doing something wrong, but I can’t get the crop tool to work. Upon clicking ‘crop’, I get this screen:

I can move the upper, right, and left handles to change the crop, to something like this:

But as soon as I touch the bottom handle, and try to move it at all, it jumps to the middle of the screen and can’t be moved downwards. It can move up further, but the bottom half of the image can’t be included in the crop:

As far as I can tell, there’s no workaround to crop the video to put the bottom of the crop at the bottom of the water.

Running version 1.0.1 on Windows 11 Pro, i7-13700K 13th Gen Intel chip, 64GB RAM, NVIDIA RTX 3070

Yes crop is crap, was also in older Versions. Do crop somewhere else, for example into Virtualdub, there you can also do more, like letterbox, free scale (for anamorph) and more with several filters.

This is an existing issue that the team has been working on trying to patch but it has proven to be difficult to address.

As Mayday mentioned, cropping in another app is the easiest workaround at this time.
