I’ve been using the AI-powered Remove tool to eliminate some large objects from photos. After experiencing a crash the first time, I searched the forum for solutions and tried almost everything I found: I reinstalled the software, switched to CPU processing to check for any GPU conflicts, reinstalled it again, and verified the installation, but nothing seemed to work. Whenever I try to remove an object from an image, Topaz crashes. Interestingly, there was one instance where it didn’t crash, and I didn’t do anything differently.
The steps I followed were
- I started the program and opened a photo
- I clicked on Remove and accepted the warning it showed me
- I selected the area to remove by painting over it
- I clicked on remove
It processes for a while, the CPU usage spikes, and then it simply crashes.
Another detail (not crucial, but…) The size of the Remove panel is large on my laptop screen, and I have to do some maneuvering to click on the remove button at the bottom of the panel.
