Converted SDR to HDR and the output file is smaller than the input

I imported a video and applied the SDR to HDR enhancement as well as the Proteus default enhancement because under the SDR to HDR option it recommends adding an enhancement to reduce artifacts. The input file is 11.2gb and the output file is 7.74gb. That seems unusual to me. I did notice the input file has a variable frame rate and the output file has a constant frame rate. Would that make that much of a file size difference and is there no way to output with a variable frame rate in Topaz Video AI?

Here is the media information:

Audio tracks is no change, gets muxed to it, but bitrate of the souce video is 78.6 Mb/s and TVAI output is 62.4 Mb/s, that makes the difference. Quality Level was set to high? TVAI presets are fixed, mabye you can change this using CLI, but Ihave no experience with it.

MediaInfo shows strange fps of the source, but seems to be it is 23.976fps, but I recommend to remux the original with MKVToolnix and see what is displayed afterwards.

This seems to be expected. The original input video is variable 143.851 FPS and your output is constant at 23.976 FPS

Could be source is CFR and VFR is just a “display thing” from container format like here. I recommend remux and check it again
