There is a connection between the “Detecting faces” processing label getting stuck and the system not meeting the requirements for running Gigapixel v8.
By far, the most common cause of “Detecting faces” hanging is that the system is under spec in some way. This can include working with large images and attempting large upscales.
Please check to confirm that your system meets the requirements for Gigapixel v8.
One attempt at troubleshooting you can try is switching your AI processor settings.
In Preferences, under Settings > General > AI processor, cycle through the options attempting different configurations to see which works best.
Setting to CPU might be slower but more reliable depending on your system’s hardware.
