Hi, I noticed on a raw photo I processed using Topaz PhotoAI 2.4.0 (via the plug-in extras pathway from Lightroom) that there is a checkerboard pattern of light and dark areas in the background of the photo. If I process the photo using the ‘edit in’ pathway (ie a TIFF) I don’t get the problem.

I see from posts back in Oct 23 that this issue has been around for a while.

I have attached the dng of the raw processed photo. I cranked up the ‘dehaze’ slider so you can see the pattern more clearly.

I hope you can find a fix soon.

Topaz Photo AI v2.4.0 on Mac

Yep, it seems to be a long standing problem for Topaz. There are a lot of people mentioning it. I have tried changing my preferred processing from CPU to graphics card and it makes no difference. I’m thinking about asking for my money back. I cant use this programme if it can’t even process without leaving a giant grid on my shot. I hope we get some feedback or recommendations about this. Keep this thread alive.
