Topaz Photo AI [v1.x.x] on [Windows/Mac]

Cannot update Topaz Photo AI. Tried several times, failed installation message.
OS: Mac Ventura.

Hi @rick.lieder, have you already tried to download a new copy of the Topaz Photo AI installer from our Topaz Labs Download Page and use that instead of the in–app updater?

Hi Preston –

Thanks for getting back to me.

I’ve always downloaded the Topaz installers from my account page.
Never had a problem updating any of the apps before.

Tried a new download of the Topaz Photo AI installer again now, same failure.

So I just tried to update from within the app and was successful.

Not sure why one succeeded and the other failed.

Any ideas?

I’m on a Mac, OS: Ventura 13.3.1

Thanks,
Rick

Very strange, do you have any form or anti-virus, firewall, or anti-malware on your Mac? Glad to hear the in-app update at least worked for you!

None of those. And I almost always update using my account page, first time it hasn’t worked.

Thanks.

Please follow the steps below to fix this.

In MacOS System Settings > Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access, enable full disk access for Installer if it is not enabled already.

Run the Topaz Photo AI installer and let me know what happens.

Hi there,
I have the same problem now on Windows:
I cannot update Photo AI to 1.3.8, neither from the in–app updater nor from a fresh Photo AI installer from the Topaz Labs.
The Installer loads down 8 packets, after the last packet, he rolls everything back, so I stuck to Version 1.3.7
On another windows machine there was no problem to update.
Both: Windows 11 Pro, build 22621.1778
Please help.
Thomas

For the Windows computer, it sounds like the model file is failing to download.

First, please disable antivirus, firewall, VPN, or proxy that may be on your computer. These are known to block the installer from downloading the model files.

Run the installer again and let me know what happens.

Just updated my Topaz Phot AI with the latest update and I was asked to activate which I did but this note occurred
